Baptism (Christenings)

Many people find that bringing a child into the world awakens a spiritual longing within themselves as well as a desire to offer something spiritual to their child.

Being baptized is one way of reflecting this spiritual awakening and whenever it happens, whether as a baby, child or adult, baptism is at the heart of an amazing journey of faith. You are never too old to take this step, and being baptized as an adult is a wonderful experience.

Baptisms can take place on any Sunday throughout the year.

Baptisms are conducted immediately following our main Sunday morning service, which begins at 10am. We recommend you and your guests attend our service, after which we can enjoy some refreshments and then hold the baptism at 11.30am.

We also have several designated Baptism Sundays throughout the year for those who would like a baptism to take place within our main Sunday service, this is particularly well suited for adults as well as those children who will receive Communion.

Since baptism is also about belonging we invite you to worship with us regularly.

Baptism begins an amazing journey with God and we would love to welcome you to St John's!
